In 2026, Tōnui Collab in partnership with the Raspberry Pi Foundation, is offering FREE AI literacy professional development for educators.
Our mission is to empower educators to confidently teach students how to navigate an AI-driven world safely. We provide the tools and know-how to leverage the Experience AI programme designed by the Raspberry Pi Foundation in partnership with Google DeepMind so that educators can access comprehensive, high-quality, and free Experience AI resources that are easily adaptable for high school students. These resources include lesson plans, slide decks, worksheets, and videos.
This programme is designed for teachers across a wide range of subjects and the resources require no prior knowledge of AI.
Over a series of workshops, educators will develop foundational knowledge of AI and familiarise themselves with the resources to support their students to develop an understanding of what AI is, explore biases, and discover how to use AI to solve real-world problems. Educators will also examine the safety implications AI use in the classroom, including data, misinformation, and deep fakes.
The resources enable teachers to support students to explore real-world AI applications, learn about the growing array of AI-related careers, and consider the social and ethical implications of AI advancements.
Experience AI can be facilitated as a whole day of professional development or a series of shorter workshops, in person and/or online.
