ABOUT US
Tōnui Collab Charitable Trust (CC58901) provides specialist bilingual STEMM education opportunities for learners of Tairāwhiti. Young people are empowered to experiment and explore the diversity of STEMM - Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths and Mātauranga Māori - through innovative wānanga using tools such as animation, engineering, 3D design, robotics, coding, virtual reality, game development, augmented reality and more!
Our core philosophy celebrates learning through exploration, learning through fast fails, and collaborative problem solving. We encourage inquiry, investigation and creative experimentation. We strive to build confidence through new ways of learning and collaborating.
TŌNUI Collab collaborates with teachers to support the impactful adoption of digital technologies. Through professional learning and development partnerships, teachers are supported in developing the confidence to introduce emerging technologies into contemporary learning environments.
The Tōnui Collab team has experience and expertise across the education and tech sectors and are passionate and committed to creating engaging learning experiences for our rangatahi. We also strive to empower educators across our community - in the classroom, out on the waka, on the marae, in the taiao - to collaborate and to enhance opportunities for our rangatahi.
In the past two years Tōnui Collab have created over 1200 unique STEMM learning opportunities that have enabled over 25000 tamariki and rangatahi o Te Tairāwhiti to explore, create and thrive with STEMM.
