Tōnui Collab is a specialist STEMM education partner dedicated to creating innovative reo rua / dual language STEMM learning opportunities for learners in Te Tairāwhiti. Rangatahi are invited to explore the diversity of STEMM - Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths and Mātauranga Māori - through experimentation with animation, engineering, 3D design, robotics, coding, game development, virtual reality and more!

Tōnui Collab is a charitable trust (CC58901)  and our workshops are available during the school term, after school, and in the school holidays.

Our core philosophy celebrates learning through exploration, learning through fast fails, and empowering tamariki to lead their own educational journeys. We encourage inquiry, investigation and experimentation through hands-on creative exploration. We strive to build confidence through new ways of learning and collaborating.

Tōnui Collab also collaborates with teachers to support the impactful adoption of digital technologies. Through professional learning and development partnerships, teachers are supported in developing the confidence to introduce emerging technologies into contemporary learning environments.

TŌNUI COLLAB

Tōnui is a Māori kupu (word) meaning to be prosperous, prolific, productive, flourishing, thriving, successful.

The name, Tōnui Collab, was chosen to signal to our community that the STEMM learning opportunities we create and facilitate are designed to enable learners to thrive collaboratively.

The name, Tōnui Collab, is also a commitment by the team to actively seek collaboration for the betterment of the next generation of STEMM leaders.
